We are incredibly proud that Leylands Medical Centre has been rated Outstanding by the CQC.

This is a significant moment for our whole team and reflects the dedication, professionalism and care shown every day by colleagues across all parts of the practice.

Providing high quality primary care is a team effort, and this outcome belongs to everyone

The inspection recognised the major transformation we have undertaken over the last three years , including improvements in access, clinical triage, disease prevention, long-term condition management, screening, vaccination uptake, mental health support, patient communication and partnership working.

We are particularly pleased that the report recognised our focus on reducing health inequalities and improving outcomes for the community we serve.

We also want to thank our patients - changes in general practice can sometimes feel difficult, especially as primary care continues to face increasing demand and complexity. Patient feedback, both positive and challenging, has helped us understand where we needed to improve and has shaped many of the changes recognised in this report.

This rating is not the end of the journey. It is a marker of progress, and validates all the hard work we have put in over the last three years, but we will not become complacent or assume that yesterday’s improvements will be enough for tomorrow’s challenges. Primary care is changing rapidly, and we are committed to continuing to adapt, innovate and work with patients, staff, community organisations and NHS partners to provide safe, compassionate, effective and accessible care.

Above all, this recognition is a tribute to the people who make Leylands what it is. We are proud of what we have achieved together, but our focus remains on the future: continuing to learn, continuing to improve, and continuing to serve our patients and community as well as we possibly can.
